How
it all started…
Mr & Mrs Robert Gyamfi
It all started with a conversation between the School Proprietress Mrs. Emefa Gyamfi and her friend Mrs. Augustina Yenzu at the premises of the Prestea Huni-Valley Municipal Education Office in March 2016 during which the former introduced some educational materials on jolly phonics to the latter. Mrs. Yenzu expressed an interest in the educational materials for her children and subsequently made a follow-up to Mrs. Gyamfi’s home to purchase a copy.
The jolly program concept of teaching and learning happened to be a fairly new educational program which requires special teaching techniques and skills. Mrs. Gyamfi, whose knowledge on Jolly phonics is so much entrenched had already planned to teach children whose parents would buy the said reading materials and subsequently avail themselves for some two weeks tuition as promised. Mrs. Yenzu was more than grateful for the offer and therefore enrolled her three children for the 2-week tuition.
Having realized the program was good and helpful to the kids, Mrs. Yenzu decided to speak about the program to colleague parents who would be interested and ready to also benefit from the program. Quite number of colleague parents bought the idea and followed up to purchase the Jolly materials from Mrs. Gyamfi.
In a twinkle of an eye, these children who had been in the program were exhibiting significant signs of academic developments such that it endeared more and more children to the program.
From the way things were going, Mrs. Yenzu saw the jolly phonics educational program as a strategy that should not just be tasted and left off and therefore suggested to Mrs. Gyamfi if she could organize weekend classes so that she could impart the knowledge on jolly phonics to all the children who will buy copies of the jolly phonics reading materials.
This idea was embraced by Mrs. Gyamfi who naturally has a strong passion for children’ educational development and subsequently introduced a weekend study program on jolly phonics. It was conducted on Saturdays where children from Creche to class six participated. In a spate of about 10 weeks, the population had grown to an extent that they had to be transported in two vehicles to Conglad for the jolly reading clinic on Saturdays. It was such an exciting scene to always go to the learning center and see the children enjoying their lessons.
Before this, Mrs. Gyamfi in another conversation had expressed her desire of establishing a school one day but had not defined the exact time. Jolly phonics as we all know is a unique and interesting program especially for school beginners and therefore this inspired Mrs. Yenzu so much.
Having observed the progress of the weekend classes and how the entire program was developing, Mrs. Yenzu was highly impressed and so further made a suggestion to Mrs. Gyamfi to start the school immediately so that her daughter who was to commence school at the time could be enrolled on the jolly phonics program as well. She just wouldn’t agree to any excuses from Mrs. Gyamfi, because she also wanted her child to benefit from the learning concept of Jolly Phonics at all cost.
The desire to establish a school by Mrs. Gyamfi was very high but due to lack of space the proprietor was a bit more careful and perturbed as to the strategy to start this noble project. However, her love and passion for children especially on matters relating to education stimulated her to pursue her dream considering the children she already had at hand and teaching them on Jolly phonics reading skills.
In view of this, on 19th September 2016, Mrs. Gyamfi started the school in her residence at Conglad using the family hall as class room for the children. The first two pupils to be admitted to the school were Carlotta-Claire Amihere Yenzu (a female) and Caleb Nii Duodoo N Sackey Dodoo (a male).
The school’s original name was “Carewell Infant School”.
The proprietress – Mrs. Emefa Gyamfi engaged the services of two young teachers to handle the kids in her absence as a result of her tight schedule of her official duty as the Public Relations officer in the Ghana Education Service, Municipal office.

What Parents are Saying
Living in a remote area of Ghana, I always worry about a school that will enable my kids match up to the level of their relatives in the cities. But thanks to RCIS that worry is no more. I can take my children to any community and never worry how they will perform as far as wholistic education is concerned.
I will at anytime recommend RCIS to every parent.
As an engineer, I acknowledge the importance of a strong foundation to the strength of any structure. RCIS provides an excellent and conducive teaching and learning environment for total child development. Not only do they teach kids to read and write at an early age, but they also complement parents’ efforts of holistic child training by emphasizing good morals , how to confidently express opinions without offending and also be responsible citizens.
REMALJ CAREWELL INSPIRATIONAL SCHOOL is by far the best best Pre-School in our visinity. Talk of Teachers, Educational Structures, Learning materials, Technology and so on, they have it all.
I have never regretted enrolling my kids.
